How do I hide subplot labels (a, b, c, etc.) in a Layout?

How can I hide the ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’ subplot labels so that I can display a more dense grid of plots?

There are a few sublabel_* options in the mpl backend, if that’s what you mean?
