pandas.DataFrame as Polygons constructor

It seems reasonable that I should be able to use a pandas dataframe as a Polygons element constructor. In order to do that, you’d have to specify the column with the geometry as the kdim. However, you can’t do that because kdims will fail with len < 2.

This is what I’m using:

import pandas as pd
import geoviews as gv
df = pd.DataFrame({'geometry': [Polygon([(0, 0), (1, 1), (1, 0)])], 'value': 1})
poly = gv.Polygons(df, kdims=['geometry'])

Is this a design decision? Is my only other option to build a geopandas.GeoDataFrame around the pandas.DataFrame?
